This is good: CNN reports that Kazakhstan (or, correctly, the Foriegn Ministry) has threatened to sue Ali G’s Sacha Baron Cohen for his Borat character. Borat is Cohen’s bumpkin Kazakh personality, made famous from the Ali G show.
So this must mean you’ve made it as a comedian when you get a whole country ready to sue your butt. The thing that I didn’t realize before reading the article: Kazakhstan is the world’s 9th largest country in terms of land mass. “As they say in my country,” you learn something new every day.
(So does this mean that we can sue certain politicians for defaming our country? Interesting idea…)
