Back a year ago, I wrote about the inanity of marketing “vitamin” everything. “Vitamin Water” was my pet issue back then. I’m glad to see the issue of vitamin obsession makes the New York Times Health Section:
“Countless consumers believe in the healing power of vitamins. Trouble is, the best major medical studies have failed to show any benefit.”

I think the bigger issue is not vitamins per se, but what we perceive as their effectiveness. Are vitamins the new panacea? Do they make us feel better about otherwise unwise nutrition choices?
