Mapping a learning journey for volunteer training

How can an animal rescue volunteer organization and its volunteers better understand their shared responsibilities?

City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a nonprofit organization that rescues adoptable dogs and cats in overcrowded and high-kill shelters in the Washington, DC area. The organization regularly conducts new foster orientations, covering information ranging from basic pet care, behavioral and health reporting requirements, home preparation, supplies, intake processes, facilitating adoption, and veterinary support. Partnering with one of the foster training leads, I helped design an updated foster training system. I worked not only to identify the needs of the organization, but to recommend updates to the training system that would involve minimal, if any, additional investment in software.
